The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans’ volleyball team beat the Twentynine Palms Ladycats in four sets yesterday. Coach Darrell Sterling said leading the way was freshman EJ Day with 16 kills on 35 attempts, two blocks, and two assists. Sophomore Julia Conrad had 12 kills on 28 attempts, one block, and three service aces. Junior setter Alyssa Luckino had 42 assists.
Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by junior Cheryl Jensen who had five kills and great hustle on the court. Junior Lindsey Scamman had four kills and 5 blocks. Senior Tatiyanna Mackall had four kills for the night. Junior Hope Culver had four ace serves. Sophomore Gabby Mackall had one kill, one block, and 12 assists.
In high school sports today, the Joshua Springs Christian School volleyball team will host Redland Adventist Academy at home, starting at 5:30 p.m.
