HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans varsity volleyball team beat Desert Hot Springs in a shut out game winning 3-0, scores being 25-10, 25-17 and 25-6.
Freshman EJ Day led with 22 attempts, nine kills, 14 serves and four aces. Junior Alessa Luckino had nine assists with senior Becky Messaros helping with four assists. The Lady Trojans played exceptionally well against Desert Hot Springs, keeping the momentum at a high for their next game Wednesday against Coachella Valley High School.

The Lady Trojan junior varsity team beat Desert Hot Springs in two. Good job to both teams.

The Lady Cats dropped their game against the visiting Rancho Mirage Rattlers in five exciting sets. Coach Missy Bond said the Lady Cats were led by senior Tatiyanna Mackall, who had 12 kills one block, two ace serves and two assists. Junior Lindsey Scamman had nine kills, five blocks and one assist. Junior Cheryl Jensen had six kills and an assist. Senior Makya Bullion had two kills and one ace serve. Sophomore Gabby Mackall had four kills, one block, one ace serve, and 20 assists. The Ladycats are now 0-2 in league and host Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday.

In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ tennis and volleyball teams will travel away to Thermal and play Coachella Valley High School. Both matches start at 3:15.
The Twentynine Palms High School volleyball and tennis teams will host Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home; tennis starts at 3:15; volleyball at 4:30 p.m.
