HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team played Cathedral City at home last night and beat them in three sets. The Ladycats are now 2-0.
 
The girls won 25-16, 25-23, and 25-12. Coach Missy Bond said, “The Ladycats were led by senior Tatiyanna Mackall with 10 kills and two solo blocks. Junior Lindsey Scamman had three kills, two blocks, and two ace serves. Seniors Makya Bullion, Selemara Mapuatuli and junior Cheryl Jensen had two kills apiece. Junior Vaitupu Melei had one kill and seven ace serves. 
 
The Twentynine Palms Ladycat varsity tennis team traveled to Shadow Hills on Thursday to take on the Knights. The Ladycats came away with a big win 12 to 6. The Ladycats improve to 2-0 overall.
 
In singles action, the Ladycats were led by Lexi Wade, sweeping all three sets, while Alicia Gilchrist came away winning two of her sets. In doubles action, Sherolyn Alconaba and Danny Morrissey swept all three sets while Kyla Limon and Shadia Sanchez and Sadie Brown and Samantha Crippen both won two sets a piece. 
 
In high school sports today, all three local football teams will be traveling away tonight. The Yucca Valley Trojans will play Excelsior Charter School in Victorville; The Twentynine Palms Wildcats will travel to Indio High School; and the Joshua Springs Lightning will travel to Lucerne Valley High School. All games begin at 7 p.m.
 
And in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School cross-country team will participate in the Gaucho Invitational in Ventura.
