The Yucca Valley High School Trojan Varsity wrestling team is now 2-0 in De Anza League play, after drubbing the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles 70-3 yesterday. The JV Wresters won by forfeit as DHS did not field a JV team to wrestle against. Coach Brandon Whitbread said the Trojans will travel to Banning to take on the Broncos this afternoon in a non-league match before closing out the week tomorrow against De Anza League opponent Lucerne Valley.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School boy’s basketball team will host San Jacinto High School at home. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
Also tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will host the Big Bear Bears at home. The girls start at 6; the boys, at 7:30.
