The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat golf team had two back-to-back wins Monday and Tuesday against Big Bear High School. Thursday they hosted Rancho Mirage High School and won a nail biter with a score of 254 to 257. Coach Gary Bell said low scores for the Wildcats were Justin Delarosa shooting 45, and Manual Purdue with a 49. The Wildcats are now in first place in DeAnza league with a record of 5 and 1.
The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity tennis team hosted the Eagles of Desert Hot Springs for a league match on Wednesday. The Wildcats secured the victory by beating the Eagles 15 to 3. Coach Bill Shay said the Wildcats were led by singles players John Lanza, Ben Pressnall, and Mark Issarraraz, each sweeping all three of their sets. Doubles were led by Raul Hernandez and Brett Hope sweeping all three of their sets. Manny Rodriquez and Nicholas Champion came away winning two of their sets, and Larry Martinez and Justin Perez won one of their sets. The Wildcats are now 3-1 in league and will host the Trojans of Yucca Valley on Monday.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat and Yucca Valley High School Wildcat track teams will travel to San Jacinto to participate in the Flying Tiger meet, starting at 8 a.m.
