The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team traveled to Rancho Mirage yesterday and came home with a 65-44 De Anza league win last night. Coach Jess Geeson said sophomore Savannah Beasley led the team with 20 points. She was followed by fellow sophomores Kloee Scaccionoce and Hannah Hovious with 13 points and nine points respectively. The win moves the squads record to 3-1 in De Anza league play and 12-6 overall.
Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer team lost to Rancho Mirage 6-0. Coach Jorge Rodriguez said, “Our guys played a good first half; we had a shutout; half time score was scoreless, but we allowed six goals in the second half. We give credit to Rancho Mirage High School for playing a good game.”
Coach Scott Phillips reported the Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer team traveled to take on Rancho Mirage High School and lost a hard-fought, aggressive game 5-0.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Joshua Springs boys’ basketball team will travel to play Mesa Grande Academy. Game starts at 7 p.m.
Tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ JV basketball teams will play each other. Boys will play in Twentynine Palms and girls in Yucca Valley. Tip off for both games is at 4:30 p.m.
Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer teams will play against Yucca Valley High School. Boys will play in Twentynine Palms and girls will play in Yucca Valley. Both games start at 5 p.m.
