HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORE AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms high school swim team had a meet Wednesday against Desert Hot Springs in Palm Springs. The Lady Wildcats dominated Desert Hot Springs with a score of 122 to 37 with Koko Cabrera lowering her time for CIF consideration in the breast stroke. The boys Wildcats lost 54 to 90, being way outnumbered with the Wildcats having four swimmers to Desert Hot Springs’ 13, but still the boys came out first in almost every heat.

Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats boys’ tennis team hosted Shadow Hills High School yesterday and defeated the Knights 10-8. Team standout was singles team captain De’Neil Washington. Coach Larry Battle said after losing two straight sets, Washington went into his final set, won 6-4 and secured the win for his team.

After three matches in a row, the Twentynine Palms varsity golf team won two and lost one. Coach Grant Whipple said Tuesday the ‘Cats lost to Shadow Hills but rebounded Wednesday, beating Big Bear and then beating Desert Mirage Thursday. The ‘Cats are now 6-1 in league play and take on Yucca Valley High School next Tuesday in an away league match.

In high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley High Schools swim teams will participate in the Yucca Valley Invitational swim meet in Yucca Valley. The meet begins at 9 a.m.
