The Twentynine Palms Wildcats boys’ tennis team defeated Shadow Hills High School at home Friday, 13 to 5, in their first conference match of the season. Coach William Shay said the Wildcats were led by singles players Jarod Burkes, John Lanza, and Sam Choi, each sweeping all three sets. In doubles action, Marcus Simon and Vincent Thomas swept all three of their sets. This brings the Wildcat boys to 2-2 on the season overall, and 1-0 in conference play.
In high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School golf team will play Xavier College Prep School in the Classic Club match, starting at 2:45.
Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms Wildcat baseball team will host Shadow Hills High School at home. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m. and the Twentynine Palms High School Swim team will host Cathedral City at home, the swim meet starts at 3:15
And finally, the Joshua Springs baseball and softball teams will host Excelsior Charter School from Victorville at home. Both games start at 3:15 p.m.
