TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER TAKES THE ELKS CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ Wildcat varsity soccer team traveled to Yucca Valley Tuesday night for the second leg of the annual Elks Cup. Coach Nathan Niles said the Wildcats played a great game from start to finish with strong defensive commitment from the entire team. The score ended 5-0 with Twentynine Palms on top. This gave the Wildcats a season sweep for the first time ever against the Trojans.

Junior Nick Stowers had a hat trick, along with scores from senior Sam Eggers and sophomore Miguel Sosa. Assists came from Eggers, Stowers and Tim Niles. Goalkeeper KJ Magwood recorded his second shutout of the season with eight saves.

The Elks Cup is now at Twentynine Palms High School on display in the main office.

The Wildcats continue their push for the playoffs Thursday night on the road against Coachella Valley. Junior varsity plays at 3:15 and varsity at 5.
