HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School soccer Wildcats had their first away contest of the season against the Roadrunners of Loma Linda Academy. The varsity ’Cats won 5-2.

Individual stats:
Coach Nathan Niles said all five goals were assisted by Nick Stowers, Carlos Herrera, Angel Zaragoza, Roy Rathbun, and Antonio Ramirez. Senior Ryan Stowers led the Wildcats with two goals, with Nick Stowers, Sam Eggers and Angel Zaragoza each adding a score.  Keeper Juan Duran had two saves. Their record is now 2-2.

The junior varsity squad won their first game of the season 2-0 with a dominating performance. 

Keeper Adam Pereira had four saves. Chris White scored on an assist from Antonio Amador and Freshman Jacob Nilsson scored on a penalty kick in the second half. The JV ’Cats record is now 1 win, 1 loss, and 2 ties.
Both teams travel to Banning to take on the Broncos tomorrow with JV kicking off at 3:15 and varsity at 5:00.
 
In high school sports, today, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ basketball team will travel away to play Hemet High School. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
 
The Yucca Valley High School wrestling team will host Rancho Mirage High School at home. JV wrestling and girls’ wrestling start at 5 p.m., and varsity at 6 p.m.
