HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS RESULTS AND SCHEDULES

Spring training continues for the Yucca Valley High School Trojan baseball team as their three-game winning streak came to an end Friday afternoon. The Trojans hosted Xavier Prep High School, and early errors and cold bats meant they were down three runs in early innings. Coach Brian Schoenborn said a spark from senior Colden McGarvie’s solo home run in the sixth wasn’t enough to catch fire. In spite of good hitting from sophomore Anthony Gutierrez, who went 2-3 at the plate, and senior Dovian Delgado’s double, the Trojans had trouble scoring runners. McGarvie pitched all seven innings. Final score 6-3. The junior varsity also fell to Xavier Prep, 6-3.
