The Twentynine Palms varsity boys’ tennis team traveled to Desert Hot Springs to face the Eagles on Tuesday, March 15. The Wildcats defeated the Eagles 14 to 4. The Wildcats were led by singles players John Lanza and Ben Pressnall, sweeping all three of their sets, and Mark Issassarraz capturing one of his sets. The Wildcats were also led by their double teams Raul Hernandez/Brett Hope and Nathan Thomas/Manny Rodriguez, who also swept all three of their sets. Colby Thomas and Nicholas Champion also won one of their sets.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat golfers will travel away to Apple Valley. Tee time is 2:45. The Wildcat boys’ tennis team will host Cathedral City at home today; first serve is at 3:15. And the Twentynine Palms track and field team will compete at Shadow Hills High School, also starting at 3:15.
In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School swim team and track and field team will compete against the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles. The swim team will travel away; the track team is at home. Both events begin at 3:15. And the Trojan baseball team will travel to Hesperia to play the Sultana High School Sultans, starting at 3:15.
Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat golf team will host the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home, starting at 2:45.
The Twentynine Palms High School baseball and softball teams will host the Shadow Hills Knights of Indio at home. Both games start at 3:15.
