Twentynine Palms High School swim team members participated Wednesday in the CIF Championships that took place at the Riverside Aquatics Complex. The team had a great showing and some were placed with qualifying times for tomorrows CIF Finals.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Hanna Beard was 26th, Lexi Wade was 34th, and Gabby Crank was 36th. In the 200-yard freestyle, Beard was 31st. In the 100-yard freestyle, Darrian Rieg was 19th, and in the 500-yard freestyle, Jacob Bell was 35th. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Nokomis Cabrera was 29th and Spencer Walton was 32nd.
Going back today for the CIF Finals will be Gabby Crank, Nokomis Cabrera, Hanna Beard, Darrian Rieg in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, and Darrian Rieg for her 500-yard freestyle.
In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan track team will travel away to Estancia. The track meet starts at 11 a.m.
