The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team lost to the Yucca Valley High School lady Trojans in 5 sets. Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by junior Tatiyanna Mackall with 17 kills, two blocks and one ace serve. Senior Latasia Benevente had seven kills and three ace serves. Sophomore Lindsey Scamman had six kills and three blocks. Junior Mara Mapuatuli three kills. Senior Allix Durrum had three kills, two ace serves and 13 assists. Senior McKenzy Johnson had three ace serves for the night. The Ladycats look to begin CIF play on Tuesday. Wildcat of the Week is Senior McKenzy Johnson .
The girls varsity tennis team beat Ontario High School in a CIF playoff match. The score was 9-9 80-72. Coach Cindy Miller said standouts in singles were Katie Brattain and Carrie Scofield. In doubles, Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard, Aislinn Gueltzow and Miranda Green, Nikole Cody and Alli Koedel. This was a total team win. Every point counted from all the players. Today they travel to Clarmont to take on Webb High School. The start time is 2:00 p.m.
