The Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer team traveled to Hesperia Thursday to take on Sultana High School in non-league play. The Lady Trojans fought hard but fell short by a score of 3-1. Sophomore Alexia Missett scored the goal on an assist from freshman Jackie Bolha.
The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ soccer team opened home league play Thursday night with both JV and varsity losing to the Knights of Shadow Hills High School. Freshman Nick Stowers again scored the lone goal for both teams in the JV game. Both teams will host Rancho Mirage on Tuesday, January 13, in Twentynine Palms.
The Twentynine Palms Girls’ Varsity Basketball team raised their record to 2 and 0 in league play on Thursday, January 8, with a win over Shadow Hills High School, 54 to 32. The Wildcats played good defense and were 17 for 18 from the free throw line. Lindsey Scammon had 20 points and 14 rebounds; Nokomis Cabrera had 14 points and six rebounds.
