HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS REPORT

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats Volleyball team played Desert Hot Springs Friday and came away with a win in four sets. 20-25, 25-9, 25-20, and 25-15.   

Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by freshman Meleane Taule with12 kills and three ace serves. Senior Alaina Thomas had seven kills and two ace serves. Senior Gabby Mackall had six kills, one ace serve, one block, and one assist. Junior Jhordyn Stanley had six kills, four ace serves, one block, and one assist.   

On Monday, the Ladycats lost in five hard-fought sets against Desert Mirage High School, 25-16, 17-25, 15-25, 25-18, 12-15. They were led by senior Alaina Thomas with 11 kills and two ace serves. Junior Riley King had 10 kills, three ace serves, two solo blocks, and one assisted block. Senior Lea Speer and junior Amanda Mohn combined with 11 kills.
 
The Twentynine Palms High School varsity girls’ tennis team traveled to Shadow Hills High School to face the Knights Monday. The Ladycats won 14 to 4. The Ladycats host Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday and travel to Indio on Thursday. Coach Bill Shay said the Ladycats are 1-and-0 in league and 3-and-1 overall.
 
In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ tennis team will host Indio High School at home.

And, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis team will host the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home.

Both matches start at 3:15.
