Yesterday, the Twentynine Palms High School varsity swim team traveled to Apple Valley for their second meet of the season. Against the tough Division 3 team, the boys’ team lost, 72 to 94. The girls’ team won, 94 to 70, and brought home more CIF times. Those were; Hanna Beard in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle; Darian Reig in the 50-yard freestyle; Gabby Crank, Lindsey Scamman, Nokomis Cabrera, and Darian Reig in the 200-yard medley relay; Hanna Beard, Nokomis Cabrera, Kyra Minatrea, and Darian Reig in the 200-yard freestyle relay; and Hanna Beard, Gabby Crank, Kyra Minatrea, and Lindsey Scamman in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Twentynine Palms Wildcat golf team traveled to Apple Valley yesterday in a non-league match and were defeated 247-193. The ’Cats are now 2-2 overall, and 1-0 in league play. Coach Grant Whipple said standouts were Brandon Steffins, 37; Justin Delarosa, 46; Hayden Shupp, 47; and Chris Waring, 54. The ’Cats travel today to Desert Hot Springs for a league match.
