Yucca Valley hosted the 23rd Annual Hi-Desert Classic Cross Country Invitational at Machris Park. The varsity boys successfully defended their title for the third year in a row. The boys were led by Isaiah Wilson in third (16:44), Jorge Diaz in sixth (17:02), and Andy Tamayo in 10th (17:35).
The Varsity Girls placed second behind Trabuco Hills, Jazmin Angeles paced her team in 20:25, finishing third. She was followed by Emma Mills in seventh at 21:13.
The JV Girls were also second overall led by Morgan Brafford-Novak in seventh with a time of 23:35. Denilson Benavides led the JV Boys to a third place finish, running 19:05 over the three-mile course, placing second.
Up next will be the first of three DeAnza League meets at Twentynine Palms High School on Thursday, September 28. Start time is 3:15 p.m.
