The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan volleyball teams hosted the Desert Hot Springs Lady Eagles Monday. Varsity lost 0-3. Coach Matt Jennings said leading the team were Becky Messaros, who was 13 for 13 serving; Joelle Hazher, six for seven serving; Ashley Schwartz, with five kills; Ashley Priest, with seven blocks; and Haley Rayburn, with six kills.
The junior varsity team played well and defeated Desert Hot Springs 2-0. Leading the team were Savannah Sanchez, who was 10 for 11 serving; Becca Dumas, 9 for 10 serving with three aces, and 11 assists; and Kyley Beatty, with seven kills and one block.
The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Desert Hot Springs 16-2. Coach Cindy Miller said outstanding players in doubles action were Aimee Frank and Cionne Lonergan 3-0; Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard 3-0; and Aislinn Gultzow and Christa Jenkins 2-0. In singles, Carrie Scofield is 3-0. Rachel Green had three wins and Miranda Green had two wins. The team is 9-0.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis and volleyball teams will host Shadow Hills High School at home. Tennis starts at 3:15 p.m.; volleyball at 4:30.
The Yucca Valley High School girls’ volleyball team will host Desert Mirage High School at home. First serve is at 4:30. It will also be Senior Recognition and Parent Appreciation Night. The freshman/jv parents will be recognized after the junior varsity match and the varsity team and seniors will be recognized after the varsity match.
