The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity tennis team traveled to Rancho Mirage Wednesday to face the Rattlers. The Wildcats suffered a loss to a well-experienced Rancho Mirage team. The Wildcats were led by singles player John Lanza, who won two of his sets. In doubles action, the Wildcats were led by Raul Hernandez and Manny Rodriguez, who won two of their sets.   

The Twentynine Palms Wildcats golf team wrapped up another busy week of league competition Thursday. Monday, the team traveled to La Quinta to play Shadow Hills and won 258 to 313. Tuesday, the Wildcats beat the Desert Mirage Rams with a score of 249 to 299, and Thursday, they hosted Shadow Hills and won 251 to 282. Coach Gary Bell said standout players for the week were Justin Delarosa, Jace Hope, and Manuel Perdue. The three wins bring the team’s league record to 9 and 1, alone in first place.
