The Twentynine Palms High School Girls’ Varsity Basketball team defeated the Big Bear Bears Tuesday, 53 to 15, to stay undefeated in league at 5 and 0. The ‘Cats overall record is 17 and 5. Coach Tim Stanford said nine different Wildcats scored, and the team played outstanding defense. Scoring leaders were: Johnette Brown with 11, Laveena Benavente with 8, and Alex Herrera and Koko Cabrera with 8 each.
In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ soccer team will travel away to Desert Hot Springs to play the Golden Eagles.
The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will travel to Indio to play Shadow Hills High School. The girls play at 6; the boys at 7:30.
