Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer competed at Ontario Christian Christmas Classic Tournament December 28, 29, and 30. Coach Jorge Rodriguez said, “We started off very slow with two losses, but we got stronger and more confident as the week went on. We finished with two wins in a row.” Yucca Valley scored four goals total, two by senior Andrew Bellucci, one by senior Enrique Tamayo, and one by senior Luis Estrada. The defense allowed a total of seven goals in four games. Junior goalkeeper Steven Castro had a shutout versus Saint Anthony, and Giovanni Costagliola had an assist versus Calvary Murrieta.
 
The Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer team traveled to compete in the Ontario Christian Christmas Classic during their winter break. Girls’ varsity soccer coach Scott Phillips said, “After a slow start to the tournament, the Lady Trojans came away with a strong victory against Palm Springs High School.”  Statistics for the tournament is as follows: freshman Riley Vallo, three goals; junior Alexia Missett, one goal, one assist; junior Hayli Mayhood, one goal, one assist; sophomore Jackie Bolha, one assist; and sophomore Liana Jimenez, one assist.
