The Yucca Valley Lady Trojan basketball team picked up a 57-51 non-league win over San Jacinto last night in Trojan Gym. Coach Jess Geeson said sophomore Savannah Beasley led the Trojans with a game high 20 points and six steals. She was joined in double-figure scoring by sophomore Kloee Scaccionoce who added 12 points and nine rebounds. Senior Annika Dendekker chipped in with nine points and sophomore Hannah Hovious notched seven points. The team is now 3-2 on the season and play league rival Big Bear in a first round game at the Hesperia Christian tournament today

The Twentynine Palms Lady Wildcats Soccer team hosted the Banning Lady Broncos Tuesday evening. The varsity team won 2-0. Varsity captain junior Cheyenne Hunsinger scored an unassisted goal in the first half, and junior Lexie Rivera scored in the second half after an assist from Maggie O’Brien. Senior defenders Kathy Lazaro and Erin Babinec protected the back line while senior goalkeeper Maranda Palmer had 11 saves in the shutout.

Junior varsity won their contest 3-1. Sophomore Alicia Gilchrist opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first half. Sophomore Season Bosch scored twice, once in each half, on assists from junior Cat Aguilar and sophomore Rose Perrotte. Freshman goalkeeper Alexis Soster had five saves, allowing just a single goal late in the second half.
