HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

Today, members of the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat girls’ swim team are competing in their first round of CIF. Traveling to Riverside today are De Anza League MVP senior Hanna Beard who will race in the 100-yard backstroke, senior Nokomis Cabrera in the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman Lindsey Scamman in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Darrian Rieg in the 50-yard freestyle, along with the 200-yard medley relay team of Hanna Beard, Nokomis Cabrera, Lindsey Scamman, and sophomore Lexi Wade; the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hanna Beard, Nokomis Cabrera, Darrian Rieg and sophomore Kyra Minatrea; and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lindsey Scamman, Darrian Rieg, Kyra Minatrea, and sophomore Gabby Crank. The girls had a great undefeated season and were De Anza League champions for the third year in a row.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Joshua Springs Christian School Lightning baseball and softball will travel away to play Baptist Christian. First pitch for both games is at 3:15.
