The Yucca Valley High School Trojans Baseball Team traveled to Rancho Mirage Friday afternoon. Coach Brian Schoenborn said the Trojans jumped out in the first inning with six runs, with singles by junior Colden McGarvie, freshman Desmond Delgado, sophomore Tim Parker, junior Jared Hudson, and a double by senior Parker Jones. Another double by Jones in the second inning gave him a 5- RBI day, and the Trojans had a nine-run lead. Rancho Mirage managed only one hit after the fourth inning. Senior Isaiah Kinder pitched 7 and a 1/3 innings with four strikeouts and only one walk. McGarvie came in to close out Rancho Mirage and seal the win for the Trojans; final score 11-8.

The team is still hoping to make playoffs and have two final and deciding games next week.
The Trojan junior varsity lost a close game, 5-4.
