The Twentynine Palms Wildcat golf team hosted Desert Hot Springs High School in a league match yesterday and came away with a 256-298 victory, to go 7-1 in the DeAnza League. Coach Grant Whipple said the ’Cats will take a week off and host Big Bear and Desert Mirage in a dual meet next Thursday.

The Twentynine Palms High School varsity boys’ tennis team hosted Desert Mirage Monday. The Wildcats secured the win by beating the Rams 14-4. Coach William Shay said the Wildcats were led in singles by Jarod Burks and Sam Choi, sweeping all three of their sets, while John Lanza won two of his sets. In doubles action, the Wildcats were led by Marcus simon and Vincent Thomas, sweeping all three of their sets, while Raul Hernandez and Jose Valdez won two of their sets. The Wildcats tennis team is now 7-3 overall and 4-1 in league conference play.
