The Yucca Valley High School Trojan baseball teams hosted Desert Hot Springs Wednesday afternoon. The Trojans got off to a great start by scoring three runs in the first inning but DHS managed two runs in the last two innings to win 11-7. The junior varsity Trojans won their game 8-0.

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ tennis traveled to Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday to challenge the DHS Eagles. The Wildcats came away with the victory with a score of 14-4. Coach William Shay said in singles action, the Wildcats were led by Jarod Burks and John Lanza, sweeping all three sets. In doubles action, the Wildcats were led by Marcus Simon and Vincent Thomas, sweeping all three sets. Also Jose Valdez and Raul Hernandez swept all three of their sets in the Wildcats victory

The Twentynine Palms Wildcat golf team traveled to Rancho Mirage yesterday for a league match and came away with an impressive win 239-282. The ’Cats are now 5-0 in league play. Coach Grant Whipple said leading the way for the ’Cats were Justin Delarosa, 41; Brandon Steffins, 44; and Anthony Guiterrez, 50.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School and Twentynine Palms High School track teams will travel away to San Jacinto to take part in the Flying Tiger Invitational meet, starting at 8 a.m.
