HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Lady Trojans volleyball team of Yucca Valley High School hosted the Big Bear Bears Tuesday night in Trojan gym. The varsity team lost. Coach Matt Jennings said the team played well but made some mistakes that cost them the close set. Some statistics: Chelsea Leboutillier, 18 kills and two blocks; Chelsea Mondary, 32 assists, 17 for 17 serving; Michaela Milone, 16 digs, four kills, 16 for 16 serving; Ashley Priest, 12 kills; and Jenna Conrad, two blocks.

Yesterday, the Twentynine Palms High School girls tennis team defeated the Shadow Hills Knights by a score of 12-6. The Wildcats are now 4-0 in the De Anza League and 6-3 overall for the season.

Volleyball dominates high school sports tomorrow. The Yucca Valley High School volleyball team travels away to Desert Hot Springs tomorrow; game starts at 4:30. The Joshua Springs Christian School volleyball team hosts Redlands Adventist Academy at home at 5 p.m. The Twentynine Palms High School tennis and volleyball team travel away to play Desert Mirage High School. Tennis starts at 3:15; volleyball at 4:30.
