The Yucca Valley High School volleyball teams made the trip to Desert Mirage on Monday afternoon. The varsity team fell 1-3. Coach Matt Jennings said the team saw some standouts: Ashley Schwartz with 10 kills; Ashley Priest with nine kills and four blocks; Jade Adair- was 14 for 14 serving, with two aces; and Joelle Hazher 8 for 8 serving.
The Yucca Valley High School junior varsity tennis team also lost 1-2. The team standouts were: Becca Dumas who was 19 for 20 serving, with five aces, and 21 assists; Kyley Beatty had 10 kills; Emily Vigrass with five kills and one block; and Jackie Bolha with 28 digs.
All three teams will host Shadow Hills Wednesday in Trojan gym. Freshman at 3:15; junior varsity at 4:30; and varsity at 5:45.
Monday, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis team lost a close match to Shadow Hills high school by score of 8-10. With three individual sets that went into tie break, the Wildcats came up short. Coach Joe Ingram said Senior singles player Jasmine Smith managed to come away victorious, bringing her personal record to 11 wins and 1 loss in league play. The Wildcats are now 2 and 2 in league and 4 and 4 overall.
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley girls’ volleyball team will host Shadow Hills High School at home. First serve is at 4:30.
Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School girls; tennis and volleyball teams will host the Big Bear Bears at home. First serve for tennis is at 3:15; volleyball starts at 4:30 p.m.
