The Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer team faced off with Desert Mirage High School at home yesterday and lost 7 to 2.

Coach Jorge Rodriguez said, “We played a very tough and experienced team. Our goalkeeper captain Landon Gradilla had eight saves tonight and our other captain, Carlos Rodriguez-Santos, scored two goals tonight, with an assist by junior midfielder Logan Barth. We made some mistakes on defense and they scored off the turnovers. Our young Trojans played well as a team and never gave up. The coaching staff is very happy with the progress our guys are making game after game. Player of the match is Carlos Rodriguez-Santos for his never-quit attitude and team leadership. We play another home game Thursday at 4 p.m. versus Cathedral City High School. As always we thank and the parents and guardians for their support.”
