Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer hosted Twentynine Palms High School yesterday. The final score was Yucca Valley 10, and Twentynine Palms, 0.
Yucca Valley Coach Jorge Rodriguez said, “Our Trojan boys played very well tonight, the team is coming together and our coaching staff is very pleased with our progress in such a short time playing together. Our opponent played with lots of effort as usual and we give lots of credit to their coaching staff for putting a team together in such a short time”
Game highlights: Yucca Valley High School senior captain Carlos Rodriguez-Santos scored two goals. Junior midfielder Logan Barth scored two goals. Sophomore Zach Cardoza also scored two goals, followed by Ethan Snead, Jacob Gregory, Griffin Hilderbrand and Seth Snead.
Sanchez said, “Our goal keepers and defense also played very well; they had multiple chances to score, but our guys stepped up and shut down the attack.”
Player of the game was Carlos Rodriguez-Santos for his leadership and positive attitude.
