HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans hosted the Lady Broncos from Banning on Thursday. The varsity team won 3-0. Coach Matt Jennings said outstanding players were senior Ashley Priest, with 11 kills, two blocks, 10 for 12 serving; senior Haley Rayburn with three kills, 10 for 11 serving; junior Jade Adair with four kills, eight for 10 serving; sophomore Becky Messaros had 24 assists and was 25 for 26 serving.

The junior varsity team also won, 2-0. Coach Larson said they were really strong at the service line and their passing is improving every match; all that practice is paying off. Sophomore Emily Vigrass had three blocks; freshman Becca Dumas was 11 for 12 serving with five aces; freshman Jackie Bolha was 14 for 16 serving, with seven aces.

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Banning 10-8 yesterday. Coach Cindy Miller said outstanding doubles were Aimee Frank and Cionne Lonergan, Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard, and Aislinn Gueltow and Christa Jenkins. In singles, Carrie Scofield and Rachel Green.

Coming up in high school sports tonight, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats football team will travel to Indian Springs, and the Yucca Valley High School Trojans will travel to Palo Verde. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School volleyball team will participate in the Loara Saxon Invitational meet tomorrow. And the Wildcats cross-country team will participate in an invitational meet tomorrow as well.
