Yucca Valley High School tennis players did very well in the first day of the Desert Valley individual tennis tournament at Indian Wells Tennis Garden yesterday.
In singles, Katie Brattain of Yucca Valley High School continued her outstanding play by beating Banning 8-0, in the second round. In the third round she beat Twentynine Palms 8-0. She will face Indio in the semifinals today.
Elizabeth Anderson beat Desert Hot Springs 8-2 in the first round. In the second round, she played Coachella Valley and won 8-6. In the third round she lost to Indio 6-8.
Eden Ricketts beat Twentynine Palms 8-3, in the first round. In the second round, she lost 1-8 to Twentynine Palms.
In doubles, Jade Arnhold and Orion Ricketts had a bye in the first round. In the second round, they beat Twentynine Palms 8-5. In the third round, they face their teammates, Alex Costa and Gisele Julian 8-3. They are in the semifinals today.
