In high school sports, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan varsity football team won their game against the Cathedral City Lions Friday night 49-15.
Coach JD Thompson said that the Trojans recorded 4 turnovers and a safety verses the Lions in a strong defensive performance. The Twentynine Palms Varsity Wildcats football team won their third consecutive Desert Valley league game scoring a 48-8 victory over Desert Mirage. Coach Ernest Martinez said that the Wildcats had an outstanding defensive game, putting them 3-2 this season. The Twentynine Palms Junior Varsity football team also won their game Friday night and are now 6-1 on the season.
