HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans Volleyball team visited the Desert Mirage Rams in their 13th league match yesterday. Coach Darrell Sterling said varsity won against the Rams in three sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-15). Player of this match is EJ Day because of her excellent play and eight consecutive service aces.

The junior varsity played a challenging match but lost in three sets (25-19, 20-25, 13-15). Sterling said he was really proud of how JV is coming together as a team.

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team lost in three sets to Cathedral City (11-25, 13-25, 14-25). Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by junior Amanda Mohn with three kills and one ace serve. Junior Riley King had three kills.

In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ tennis team will host Desert Hot Springs at home.

The Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis team will host Indio High School at home.

Both matches begin at 3:15 p.m.

The Lady Trojans will play the Ladycats in volleyball tomorrow at Twentynine Palms; the rivalry game starts at 4:30.
