The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Twentynine Palms yesterday, 11-7. The team is 6-1 after the first round. Up next will be a rematch with Coachella Valley High School on Thursday. The team is working really hard in practice to overtake Coachella Valley, which was

In singles, Katie Brattain shut out her opponent in three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. Katie Brattain has gone 6-0 in the last 13 matches that she has played. Elizabeth Anderson was 7-5, 4-6, 4-6; Eden Ricketts 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. In doubles, Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr were 4-6, 4-6, 6-1; Jade Arnhold and Orien Ricketts won 6-1, 6-1, 6-1; Alex Costa and Gisele Julian 4-6, 4-6, 6-1. Katie Brattain, Jade Arnhold and Orien Ricketts are undefeated in league.
In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ volleyball team will travel away to play Indio High School.
And the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ volleyball team will travel away to play Desert Hot Springs. Both matches begin at 4:30 p.m.
