HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans volleyball team visited the Coachella Valley Arabs in their eighth league match yesterday. Coach Darrell Sterling said varsity played five sets but lost a very hard battle against Coachella Valley (25-17, 25-11,15-25, 24-26,10-15).  
The junior varsity played hard and have made many improvements but lost in three sets (21-25, 25-19,13-15)

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team lost a hard-fought battle to the Banning Broncos in three sets. Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by freshman Meleane Taufa with five kills. Senior Alaina Thomas had two kills and three ace serves. 

In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ tennis team will host Desert Mirage High School from Thermal at home.
And the Twentynine Palms High School tennis team will host Cathedral City at home.

Both tennis matches begin at 3:15.
