HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Indio High School, 12-6. Coach Cindy Miller said the team is now 2-1 in league. Up next will be Desert Hot Springs tomorrow, September 13, at Desert Hot Springs. Game time will be 3:15.

In singles, Katie Brattain 6-2, 6-1, 6-0; Elizabeth Anderson 6-1; Eden Ricketts played really hard and lost two very close matches 5-7, 6-7.
In doubles, Rylie Rohr and Mckenzi Monical 6-4, 6-0, 6-0; Jade Arnhold and Orion Ricketts 6-4, 6-1, 6-1; Gisele Julian and Alex Costa 6-3, 6-4. All the doubles played well, taking eight sets out of nine from Indio.
 
In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ volleyball team will host Desert Mirage High School at home.

And the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ volleyball team will host Cathedral City at home.

Both matches start at 4:30 p.m.
