This week the Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat softball team played Desert Hot Springs in two games. Tuesday’s home game ended with a 26-3 Wildcats win, and Thursday’s game ended with another Wildcats win 30-8. That brings the Ladycats to 5-5 in league and 12-6 overall.
Katie Seffins pitched all 10 innings and had 12 strike outs. Seffins scored seven runs and had five hits.
Mikayla Cable scored five runs on four hits.
Senior Captain Jasmine Rodriguez scored seven runs on a home run, three doubles, and two singles.
Jaelyn Hanna had five hits and scored two runs.
Journey Platzke had three walks, four hits, and scored six runs.
Every player had at least one hit and scored at least one run in both games.
Next week the Ladycats play two games against Coachella Valley.
The Twentynine Palms High School Boys varsity tennis team hosted the Eagles of Desert Hot Springs Wednesday. The Wildcats lost a tough one, 7-to-11.
In singles action, the Wildcats were led by Brett Hope, who won two of his sets, while Ben Pressnall and Johnathan Simmons both won one of their
sets. In doubles action, the Wildcats were led by the team of Dylan Smith/Donald Albers, who swept all three of their sets.
The Wildcat tennis team finishes the year 6-and-4 in league and placed third in league. League finals will be held next week at Indian Wells tennis gardens.
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School track and field team will travel away to Corona. The meet begins at 8 a.m.
