HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Twentynine Palms High School Swim Team traveled to Coachella Valley High School with the Wildcats blowing the Mighty Arabs out of the water, 111 to 58 for the ladies, and 126 to 42 for the men. Coaches Michelle Minatrea-Teo and Irene Hull-Beard said the swimmers have been working very hard to keep their 4-0 winning streak alive.

Lindsey Scamman qualified with an automatic CIF time in the 100-yard butterfly; she touched the wall with a time of 1:04.16. She also bettered her CIF time in the 100-yard breast stroke with a time of 1:17.72.

It’s a busy day in high school sports today. The Yucca Valley High School baseball and softball teams will travel away to Rancho Mirage to play Rancho Mirage High School. Both games start at 3:30 p.m.

The Trojan track and field team will travel away to Thermal to compete against Desert Mirage High School, starting at 3:15.
And cross-basin rivals Yucca Valley High School and Twentynine Palms High School golf teams will play each other today in Twentynine Palms. Tee-off is at 3 p.m.

And finally, the Twentynine Palms baseball and softball teams will travel away to Desert Hot Springs to play the Golden Eagles. Baseball starts at 3:15; softball at 3:30.
