The Twentynine Palms High School softball team played a league game yesterday against Desert Mirage High School in Thermal. The Lady Wildcats won 11 to 1. Coach Dan Mintz said their league record is 3-0, 8-1 overall.
Twentynine Palms High School track and field traveled to Desert Mirage for their first De Anza League meet Thursday. The Wildcats won by a score of 71-46.
Senior KJ Magwood-Morton led the men with 18 points in both hurdles races, triple jump, and long jump.
Coach Ronda Locket-Morton said the tiny but mighty team of nine Lady Wildcats fought hard but were short by a score of 58-51.
Freshman Mallory Hutchinson scored 14 points for the Lady Wildcats in the high jump, long jump, 100m, and 200m.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School baseball team will travel away to Palm Desert to play Xavier Prep. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
