Twentynine Palms High School Lady Wildcats fast pitch softball team traveled to the Palm Springs invitational tournament Friday and Saturday for four games, and came home with second place honors. The girls won their first game Friday against Palo Verde High School, 6-5. They won their second game against Moreno Valley, 11-6. On Saturday, the LadyCats beat Palmdale High School 9-7. The girls then played Carnegie High School of Riverside. The LadyCats were 4-and-1; the Wolverines were 6-and-0 for the season. The Twentynine Palms LadyCats lost the championship game 12-0, but earned second place in the tournament.
In high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ tennis team will host Desert Mirage High School at home. First serve is at 3:15.
