The Twentynine Palms High School girls’ basketball team finished the first half of league undefeated, 5 and 0, with their win over Rancho Mirage by the score of 91 to 31. Coach Tim Stanford said every girl on the team scored in this solid win.

Lindsey Scamman had 15 points, 25 rebounds, seven assists, and seven blocks. Gabby Mackall had a career high 23 points, Mary Carbiener had 11 points, and Taylor Scamman had nine points. This week’s Wildcat of the Week is Gabby Mackall. Gabby had five three-point baskets against Rancho Mirage and her play on the defensive end of the court has been stellar all year. Gabby comes to work every day with a smile on her face and a positive attitude.

Coming up in high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, and the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will play Desert Hot Springs. The boys play at home in Yucca Valley; the girls play away in Desert Hot Springs. Both soccer meets start at 5 p.m.; both basketball games start at 6 p.m.
 
Also today, the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, and the boys’ soccer team, will play Rancho Mirage High School. The soccer games are away, starting at 5 p.m.; the basketball game is at home, and tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
