HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team used a big second half to come away with a 82-38 victory over the Big Bear Bears last night in Trojan Gym. Coach Jess Geeson said the win pushed their record to 10-4 on the season.
Senior Kloee Scaccianoce had a game high 17 points to lead the team. She was followed by senior Zena Yakimow’s 14 points, and fellow senior Kiley Pitts 13 points. Freshman Sara Mills added 12 points and senior Savannah Beasley dished out 12 assists.

Coming up in high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer and basketball teams and the girls’ soccer team will travel away to Hesperia to play Sultana High School. Girls’ soccer starts at 3 p.m., boys’ soccer starts at 5 p.m., and basketball is at 6 p.m.
Also today, the Yucca Valley High School wrestling team will travel away to Desert Hot Springs. The match starts at 6 p.m.
 
The Twentynine Palms High School girls’ basketball team will host La Quinta High School at home today. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
