HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

Twentynine Palms High School girls’ varsity basketball team raised its record to 6 wins, 4 losses with their home win against Banning last night with the score of 70 to 35. Coach Tim Stanford said the girls’ varsity Wildcats will next see action in the Best of the West Tournament December 27-30 at Ayala High School.

Leading scorer on the night was Lindsey Scamman with 19 points and 18 rebounds. Freshman Mary Carbiener added her career high of 12 points. Carveona Garner had a solid game on the night with nine points. All 11 girls scored in the game, while playing tenacious defense.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ basketball team will host Banning High School at home. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
