HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team won yesterday. The score was 13-5. Coach Cindy Miller said up next is league finals today at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The start time will be noon. Savannah Beasley and Kloee Scaccianoce are ranked third in the league in doubles.
 
In singles: Katie Brattain 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Deja Valeur 6-2; Elizabeth Anderson 6-0, 6-2; Gisele Julian 1-6; Cynthia Cisneros 1-6.
In doubles, Savannah Beasley and Kloee Scaccianoce 6-2, 6-0, 6-1; April Bratcher and McKenzi Monical 4-6, 6-1, 6-0; Montana Rowe and Alex Costa 6-0; Montana Rowe and Alyssa Synder 6-3, 3-6. The team finished with a 5-7 record in league.

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat varsity tennis team hosted the Arabs of Coachella Valley on Tuesday. Coach Bill Shay said the Ladycats lost a tough one, 10 to 8. The Ladycats finished the regular season 9 and 3 and in second place in the DeAnza League. The Ladycats travel to Indian Well tennis garden today for the DeAnza League Individual Finals. 
 
In singles action, the Ladycats were led by Alicia Gilchrist, who swept all three of her sets, while Tamesha Jefferson won two of her sets. In doubles action, the Ladycats were led by the team of Danny Morrissey/Alexis Soster, who won two of their sets, while the team of Saniyah Solwazi/Rosalind Carrllo won one of their sets.
