A heartbreaker for the formerly undefeated Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team, who played a rare Thursday night game. A last-second field goal fell short, and the Trojans lost the game, 29-28, to Coachella Valley High School.
The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team hosted the Rattlers from Rancho Mirage High School yesterday. Coach Missy Bond said the team won in five sets.
The Ladycats were led by seniors Cheryl Jensen with 11 kills and two aces, and Lindsey Scamman 11 Kills and three blocks. Junior Lea Speer had five kills. Junior Nicole Elmer had three kills and one block. Senior Jazmine Rodriguez had two kills and one block. Junior Gabby Mackall had two ace serves, two kills, one block and 29 assists. Senior Hope Culver played some terrific defense against the Rattlers.
In high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat football team will play its homecoming game tonight against Rancho Mirage High School. The Wildcats are 5 and 1; the Rattlers are 3-and-3. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School cross country team will travel to Santa Clarita for a meet.
