The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team closed out their first half of De Anza league play with a 70-26 victory at Desert Hot Springs last night.

Coach Jess Geeson said the Yucca Valley girls’ balanced attack was spearheaded by 12 points each from Taylor Spitz, Kiley Pitts, Hannah Hovious and Zena Yakimow. Junior Kloee Scaccionoce added nine points to the cause.

With the win, the Trojan Girls improved their league record to 4-1 and overall record to 14-6. The latest CIF poll has the team ranked #10 in Division 3AA. They next play at home against Coachella Valley on Thursday at 6 p.m.

In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School wrestling team will travel away to Desert Mirage High School. The match starts at 5 p.m.
