The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats boys’ soccer team hosted the Saints of Xavier Prep on Monday night for their home opener. A tough second half saw the score end with at 6-2 win for Xavier prep.
Coach Nathan Niles said freshman keeper Juan Duran played very well with several good saves. Brothers Nick and Ryan Stowers scored in each half. Justin Silvas and Tyler Cantrell anchored the defense with strong play in the center of the defense.
The JV boys dominated the game with the score ending in a tie at 1-1.
Freshman Jacob Nilsson scored the lone goal to put the team up at half with a great hustle play down the right side.
Both teams host will host the Big Bear Bears today with junior varsity starting at 3:15 and varsity at 5.
