The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans volleyball team beat the Desert Mirage High School Rams in three sets, 25-10, to finish second in the DeAnza League. Leading in kills again was freshman EJ Day and Julia Conrad, both with 11 kills. Both middle blockers Emily Vigrass and Zena Yakimow had seven kills apiece on seven attempts, both girls with two blocks. Riley Vallo had six kills to help with the win. Senior setter Becky Messaros spread the sets to all her hitters, finishing with 41 assists, a kill of her own, six service aces, 12 points off 19 service attempts with only one service error.
The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats tennis team traveled to Coachella Valley High School on Monday and came away with the win, 12 to 6. Coach Bill Shay said the Ladycats finished the year at 12 and 5, and third place in the DeAnza League
In high school sports today, the Joshua Springs Christian School Lightning volleyball team will travel to Bermuda Dunes to play Desert Christian Academy. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
